Hand Press

So my wife and I recently moved into a small studio apparently where space is at a premium. I’ve set up presses and reloading tables in small spaces before but not with a 14 month old and a wife all trying to occupy the same space.

I’m probably going to end up doing most of my loading with a handpress. I have used my Lee Handpress for years without issue and processed thousands of rounds with it. Anything I can do with a bench press I can do with a Handpress except for swaging bullets.

With that said it does have some short comings, the first being, it’s not a particularly comfortable press to use for long periods. I have big meat grippers, and they just get sore after sizing a few hundred cases.

It’s also pretty rough feeling on the opening and closing. It’s a cheap press, cast aluminum and steel. The feel of it opening and closing, even after a take down/cleaning leaves a lot to be desired.

I’m looking to see if there are alternatives out there that people have experience with.

At $200 bucks it’s a little pricy but seems like it’s built right.

That’s a unique looking press. For the price though I wonder if there’s anyway you could get one of the Lee stands and mount a regular press to that? If not then it looks like this could be a great option.

Yeah it’s a little pricey, but i can’t see putting together a stand for a press. It would just occupy too much space. I’ve done it before when it was just me in a small bed room, but with a little one running around it going to be more hassle then it’s worth.
